FAQ

Question:

Is the Global Steam Cafe program designed for a single station, or does it provide access to multiple stations?

Answer:

The Global Steam Cafe program grants your location access to games on all machines connected to the same network. This means you can provide access to games across multiple stations within your LAN center. Additionally, you can offer a Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) option, allowing those machines to access the games as well.

Question:

Does the number of game licenses vary depending on what the game publisher provides?

Answer:

The number of game licenses available depends on the relationship we have with each game publisher. However, we can always add additional licenses based on utilization. We have access to advanced data analytics to track game utilization, allowing us to identify popular games and adjust the number of licenses accordingly. This ensures that you have enough licenses to meet demand as certain games become more popular.

Question:

What is the average number of licenses available for games?

Answer:

The average number of licenses can vary significantly based on several factors, including the anticipation for a particular game, whether we obtain the game early, at release, or if it is a game that has passed its peak popularity but is still desirable to have. Our access to advanced data analytics allows us to monitor game demand and purchase additional licenses as needed. We pool our resources across all centers to ensure we use funds wisely, enabling us to acquire appropriate licenses for high-demand titles and potentially pre-purchase games to meet future needs effectively.

Question:

Will Call of Duty be offered?

Answer:

At this time, Call of Duty is not part of the program. We are currently in discussions with Activision Blizzard and will continue to engage with them, as well as other major game publishers, to expand our offerings. The core idea of this program is to unite more LAN centers, which will incentivize publishers to collaborate more closely and support the LAN center industry.
